SATURDAY!!

October 2, 2010:

As I wandered thru the house looking for something meaningful to shoot this weekend, I saw this cherub in the dining room. My grandfather made this, it was one of the things I chose after he passed and my grandmother gave his stuff away to the family. He was a very talented man and I love being able to see it hanging on the wall. For some reason it reminds me of the two short years I lived with my grandparents. I used to get up early every morning before school and make pancakes so that when my grandfather got back from his paper route we could have breakfast together. It was a very special time that we both enjoyed very much. He passed away about a year after I moved out so that time is even more precious to me! Well, thanks for letting me ramble down memory lane. Some weekends and some shots seems to do that. Its another thing I love about this project! Thank again to Dedra for inviting us all along on this adventure!!

What a great weekend. I spent Saturday shopping with my sister, something we rarely get to do anymore. I spoiled us with some McCafe frappes from McDonalds, a new favorite guilty pleasure. Sunday was pretty relaxing too. I snapped a shot of the morning paper, it made me laugh to see what a huge problem these bugs have become for our area. What a headline for the front page!

One weekend, two shots: Sunday, week 13

My scrap table. This is a work in progress that I was working on all afternoon. The journaling is one of my favorite passages of Scripture, I Corinthians 13, the love chapter.

One Weekend, Two Shots: week 13

My worn, well used, well loved Bible. I received this as a gift in the 6th grade from my grandfather. Since he has passed away it has become even more treasured. I had it sitting on the dashboard of my car yesterday afternoon just begging to be photographed before I left for Bible study.

One weekend, Sunday's shot

Mmmm!! Starbucks coffee, my favorite. This is actually an empty set that I just finished and washed. I have some craft ideas rolling around in my brain I want to try with them. To think of all the coffee bottles I've thrown out in years past. . . now I am a repurposer. I've learned all kinds of things from my super talented online scrappy friends! I'm sure my finished project will end up as one of my weekend shots somewhere down the road:)

Yesterday, I went mini golfing in Lancaster county with my Sunday school class. It was so much fun and they have such a beautiful couse. This little mill like building was the obstacle at hole #13. You had to putt your golf ball through the swinging doors on the other side of the building. Challenging. . .I am not much of a golf girl. It was so serene I couldn't resist snapping some shots of it.

This is my bonus shot for this week. We stopped for homemade ice cream right next to this little woodmakers shop. This one was of the many different bird house he had on display. This particular one is actually a bird house tree. How cute is that? They have some of the neatest little handcrafted things in Lancaster!

One Weekend

Saturday, September 4, 2010:

This is the new cabinet that I got for my scraproom. I spent the entire day cleaning and organizing and moving things around so that it was just right!

I have discovered that I love taking food pictures. These are the bagels we got from Panera Bread this morning. I love the smell of fresh baked breads in the morning!
