Surprised with a McDonald's frappe from my bestest coworker and friend!!!! Thank you Susan! Helping the guys de-rim some tires this afternoon Bonus shot: the glow of the sunset after a long rainy day yesterday
A night out. There were so many different ways I could have gone with this assignement I chose to document dinner out, just my parents and me. Our favorite resteraunt is Applebees so thats where we decided to go. It was a really nice night full of some quality family time. Dad and I even splurged and ordered appetizers, which is something we never do. I had fun experiment with the cameraand really like some of the shots I took (yes even the blurry ones!)
For this assignment I wanted to feature my dad and his best bud Jimmy. (the 2 of the lefthand side of the photo) They have been friends for several years now and I've never really thought to photograph them. . . not really sure why. I am using an older photograph for now but definitely plan on getting an updated one. Shame I didn't know the assignment earlier, Jimmy was over 1st thing this morning! LOL! These 2 would do anything for each other and their families. Jimmy's the biggest "redneck" I have ever met but has a huge heart and is considered one of the family. You know when they're together there will be fun times all around!
Edited to add this new shot of the 2 of them working on their cars this afternoon:
I know I'm 2 days late with this but better late than never right!?!
Family photo shoot: last take I told them they could show me how they really felt! LOL! Reading a Proverb a day in my devotions. Great day at work. . .no nasty supervisor:) WooHoo!! New season of Survivor!
Carrie started her new workout routine this week. You go girl!!!
i am finally getting caught up!! I only have 5 assignments to go before I am completely current. Thanks for bearing with me as I attempt to make up the first 8 days. It seems like the more I tried to catch up the further behind I got. Oh well. It's all about capturing my loved ones just the way they are and showing how much they all mean to me!
Today's assignment is supposed to be my favorite facebook picture of a loved one. I am so excited!! I am able to incorporate some other loved ones that I don't see as often! this picture is my grandmothers profile picture and just so adorable. She is just so relaxed and happy and just so. . .her. I don't get to see her as often as I'd like even though she only lives 30 min. away. Love you Nana:)
Have you noticed who my most photogenic loved one is? My sister is the best subject for any project I may take on! And she is always so willing to smile for the camera. I just love this random candid I snapped of her!
What do I do when no one is home. . .I turn my music up real loud and just chill. Or sometimes. . . shh don't tell. . . .I dance! Do I look ridiculous? Yeah probably, but that's why I wait until no one is around to just relax and enjoy my music. (I fully understand the saying dance like no one is watching) I tried taking a picture of my playlist and just do not like any of the shots I took so I just settled with this one, but I think I may keep trying until I get one I just love!
I have skipped this assignment for a few days cause I just wasn't sure what to focus on. Then my sister started a new workout routine. I was photographing this new workout for my project life and realized that I could use these shots for todays assignment. How she looks right now at this moment in time. . . no she isn't happy with how she looks, thus the working out, but she's my sister and I love her just the way she is no matter how she looks!
Interesting topic. I took a picture of my mothers hands. Those are the hands that do so much for me. They help me when I can't do it, they make the food that I love to eat, they hold me when I feel alone, they applaud me when I have accomplished something, they wipe away the tears when I am sad, they write the encouraging words that I need to read . . . they are MY MOM'S hands and I love them!
I knew exactly what I wanted to capture for this but wasn't entirely sure of how to go about photographing it. Then I saw this idea on another gals blog, she hates something similar! Great way to portray the fact that I HATE that my sister take 30-45 minute showers!! Ultimately tying up the bathroom for over an hour! Drives me crazy. This is a shot of the bathroom door, yes while she was once again hogging it! (gave me plenty of time to get the shot right without her asking me about what I was doing!!) Although she does know that I dislike her timely routine :)
Messing around in the parking lot after after a crazy trip to the grocery store! (not a great piture, but I somehow managed to delete the retake) 70 degree weather in February!!! WooHoo!!! Shopping for new jeans. . .the one thing I do NOT like to shop for!
Today's assignment is to focus on gifts that I have received from loved ones. There are 2 that really stand out to me. The 1st one is a corsage that my dad gave to me for the last Fine Arts Series program my senior year of college. He is not a man who usually tghinks to give flowers, I mean its a big deal for him to get my mom flowers for Valentines day. . .its just not his thing. So when he bought this corsage for me it meant the world.
The second is a mini tea cup and saucer that my sister bought for me while she was on her Senior trip to Niagara Falls. The fact that she was thinking of me and my puny teacup collection while she was away with all her friends spoke volumes.
Another easy assignment. My dad has a hat collection so I immediately knew that was what I wanted to photograph. But after thinking about it I settled on just snapping a picture of the hats that he wears on a daily basis! While it seems like a lot, the 5-7 hats he wears isn't even a small percentage of how many he owns.
I have spent this weekend trying to catch up an several of the days that I missed since I started on day! It was also a good chance to include my dad in some of the assignments.
For this assignment I immediately knew that I wanted to capture my dad working on one of our cars. He loves being under the hood of a car and is in the garage/driveway fixing something every single weekend!
