WITL: A look at Tuesday

Oh Tuesday, for some reason it was so much harder to get up this morning. Today I slept in....not on purpose, but just because I could not drag myself out of bed!
Today I drank my coffee with a new flavored creamer, usually I stick to French Vanilla

Today I needed Jesus

Today I worked poolside

Today I handled whiny and irritating customers

Today I relaxed on the front porch with my watching the sun go down

Today I drew maps in my sketch book to tell the story of where I grew up

Today I laughed as my sister took a quick dip in the pool before our evening walk!

Today I baked some Fiddle Faddle with my sister, and ate it while it was still warm :)

Today I lived and laughed and loved. Today was awesome!

Week in the Life: Monday

Oh my goodness! Where does the time go? How can it be August already? And I've only had 3 blog posts this whole year!? Yikes! I really need to work on that!

Well anyway here is a little bit of a look into my life right now:

Right now I am into an app called First 5 that gives me a devotional first thing every morning. I set the alarm to purposely wake me up to read the Scriptures! Love it!
Right now I am loving feeding our goldfish in the 2 small ponds outback.

Right now, I am working mostly from home. On the phone or the computer getting things taken care of.

Right now I am enjoying having a small inflatable family pool in the backyard. Just enough to get wet and cool off on a hot afternoon.

Right now I am diving into the almost 200 pictures I just had printed. While my blogging took a nosedive, I have not set the camera down!

Right now I am taking evening walks with my mom and sister listening to the banter of how everyone's day went.

Right now I am thoroughly enjoying my 5th year doing this project even if people look at me funny and tell me I am weird for taking all these very mundane pictures! Maybe I am...or maybe I am living in the right now and documenting every blessed second of it!!

Pocket Letters

Hey all!! I know its been ages since I've been on and posted anything, but life has been so busy!! I got a promotion last June, as you may remember, to territory manager. It keeps me on the go and very busy most days. Every once in awhile I have some down time in which I have been working on a new craft...pocket letters! you may have seen or heard about them. Basically a crafters version of a penpal letter :) I stumbled across them on instagram and immediately fell in love with the concept! Then I found her blog Janette Lane Pocket Letters here is her description what a pocket letter is: "I created Pocket Letters™ as a new way to send letters to your new or existing pen pals. Basically, you fill all the pockets of a 9 Pocket Trading Card Protector and send the whole page to someone who wants to swap with you. This can be a one-time exchange or you can keep exchanging Pocket Letters indefinitely. You fill the pockets with anything you like (stickers, tea bags, a note, washi tape samples, pictures, etc.) A short note or letter is included and tucked into one of the pockets. Then the Pocket Letter is folded up and sent in a standard 10 size envelope. It's theperfect way to send and collect letters from other Pocket Letter Pals (ie people who are sending mail in this format) around the world and a convenient way to store them. They fit perfectly in a binder. "-Janette Lane.
I am currently swapping on the pocket pals network on Janettes website and have a goal to swap with someone from all 50 states. So far I have received 21 state swaps!! And if anyone is interested in swapping, I'd love to hear from you...but be warned once you start you can't stop!! And I will leave you with some of my work...

My 1st Missions trip

So a small group of us from my church decided to go on a missions trip to the Philippines last June. It is something I have always wanted to do and had even put it on my life list. I was super excited for this opportunity. And could not wait to see how God was going to use me, but also terrified at the thought of being stretched outside my comfort zone! It was an unbelievable experience!! I had the opportunity to go into around 33 classrooms and tell almost 1350 students the gospel. Those #s alone are staggering...and that was just me personally, not including the other 7 from our group, or the Singapore and Philippine teams that joined us!!

Here are some photos from the trip:
The USA team
Each day all of us were divided into 3 groups: team love, hope, and faith. It gave us a chance to get to know the local and Singapore teams better. Ingrid, was the leader for team faith, whose team I ended up on 4 out of the 5 days! This was a picture with one of the administrators, who's high school we taught at.
 Beach break for team faith
Agnes leading a group of students in a believer's prayer on their recess.
Malay and Guada Gail, probably the 2 girls I got closest to the entire trip!
Pictures with some of the students after we taught in their class.

I labeled this post my 1st missions trip because it was truly an experience like no other and one that I would love to repeat. I truly loved the Philippines and their people and would love the chance to return. But if not I know that I will see many of them again someday in heaven. Praise the Lord for a harvest that truly was plentiful and the chance to make a difference in many lives!!

Project Life Update #2

Seems like I just can't keep up with my posts anymore. So I'll just have to settle for a few update posts! Here is a look at weeks 44-50.

Week 44 I played along with Ali Edwards' Week in the life, so naturally I added an insert to include some of the tons of pics I took.

back side of insert and the other half of week 44
 Week 45
Week 46, I forgot to print out Sundays picture and you can see the back of the title card from the last spread. I included another insert to cover my aunt's 50th surprise birthday party
back side of insert and second half of week 46
Week 47, I included some tags of the new purse I bought. I love adding little bits of "extras"
 Week 48
 Week 49
Week 50, I've added a lot of inserts this week all to cover my Nana's surprise 80th birthday party and family get together. I mixed in 2 8.5x11 inserts and 1 12x12 to include the invitation, guest list, copy of a 1934 newspaper article form the day she was born and one of the napkins.

Thanks for sharing and hopefully I can get the rest of 2014 posted soon!

Project Life Update

After realizing just how far behind I've gotten with my Project Life picture posts I decided to just photograph all the spreads and do one big update post to get me all caught up!!

Somehow I managed to get all my week #s mixed up...these were the last pictures I uploaded as week 34 when in reality they were week 38! not really sure how that happened! i included an insert with all the pictures I took at a pit stop to Cabellas just to check out the staged scenes they have set up! How awesome! Felt more like a museum than a store! Loved it. I think my dad was pretty proud that he brought me :)
Week 38, backside of the insert and the second half of the weeks pics.
Week 39, tried using all the same type of journaling cards. I like the unified look, but miss the eclectic look all the other spreads have. Nothing spectacular this week, mostly just work stuff.
Week 40, I haven't decided if I want to add an insert to include the extra pictures from my "go off the grid" hike! We'll see...
Week 41, this week includes tales of our church missions conference and more adventures in subbing
Week 42, another week that will have an insert for all my car show pictures. Yep its that time of year!!
Week 43, and another car show that will eventually be fully captured on an insert. Obviously I have to find time to do another picture order!
