November's last weekend Shots

I just love the way the sun was pouring through the clouds. This picture doesn't even begin to do the beauty of it any justice! I snapped a few shots from the car while I was out shopping, I'm just glad they turned out at all.

This is my "Sunday" watch, setting on the little glass tray on my dresser. The tray was my great grandmothers. I really liked they way it all looked just sitting there waiting for me to get ready Sunday morning.

DD: Pages 17-25

Come on December!!!! I am finished my album and cannot wait for the 1st to get started!

You can't tell from the picture, but I only adhered 3 sides of the heart piece so it can be used like a frame. I also used the leftover piece of vellum for a journaling tag in between the two pages (not seen in the photo)
I decorated and added a small paper bag to this page. I love having the extra space available for extra pictures and memorablia!!
This page I was thinking about doing something with the Christmas cards I send/receive. I have a pocket to tuck them into and used a blank address book page for the journaling block!

I added an extra page at the end for any misc. topics I may want to journal about or photograph.

I know that it's taken awhile to get all these pages posted, but I appreciate your generous comments and encouragement along the way!!

Thankful Tuesday

SCRAPBOOKING AND PHOTOS

Granted, I don't get as much scrapbooking time as I would like (but really, who does?) I still love every minute of it. Telling stories, cutting up paper, shopping for the perfect embellishment, giving the gift of a scrapbook, everything associated with it (with the exception of always running out of adhesive). I love all of it and if I could would make everyone sit down with me to scrapbook something about their lives.

I just love photos so much. Old photos, photos I took 5 minutes ago, blurry photos and perfectly composed ones. They all have meaning and I love that. One of my favorite things to do is to look at photos and see the change in them, or the potential change in them. They just mean so much.

DD; Pages 9-16

Here are the rest of the pics that I thought I posted yesterday! Opps!

Page 9 has a journal page in the middle of it, I am holding it up so that you can see the whole page. But it is just a plain page with a snowflake border and a tag on the bottom corner.

Page 12 also has a journaling block, but much smaller, its just the 6x6 red square.

DD; pages 3-8

I've completed several more pages this weekend! I am also so excited to learn that my dear friend Lisa, (and possibly Melissa)are joining the December journey!!! Yeah!!!

I've included a clear envelope with page 4, I already know that the 4th is our Christmas parade so I wanted to be sure I had plenty of space for extra pictures!

I added some ornament charms to the rings that I can add pictures to later.
I tried to add several envelopes throughout the album for all my extra pictures and memorabilia!
I hope to have the whole album completed and posted by the end of this week!!

One weekend: Sunday

I've repurposed an old business daytimer to fit my everyday needs. I scrapbooked some tabbed dividers, breaking it into several sections. There are sections for quotes, page layout ideas, pictures I wanna take, a calendar, project to do lists, just to name a few. I am excited, I feel like I am learning so much more than just scrapbooking with each little project that I take on!

One Weekend: Week 22

The last of the rose blooms. I was surprised to see them as we were raking up all the leaves today, but there they were as beautiful as ever. All the red roses are done blooming and have no leaves left on them, but this lone plant doesn't even seem to notice the colder weather! Isn't nature just curious sometimes?

Thankful Thursday :)

GOD and FAITH

I am thankful for a loving, caring God who gave His only begotton Son for ME!! The thought that I will spend all of eternity with Him amazes me. I am thankful that I was raised in a Christian home where I learned to have such faith. I hope that I never take that faith for granted~ it really makes a difference in my life.

I am thankful for the amazing beauty that He has created all around for us to enjoy each and every day!! This is an especially gorgeous time of year to admire His handiwork! I see His mighty hand everywhere I look!

amazing colors of a fall tree:

and a glimpse of a rainbow on a beutiful sunshiney morning:

"To be thankful for the faith to believe Christ's power and willingness to help, and to make a practical use of our belief, is a rare and precious gift. Let us be ever thankful if we have it. To be willing to come to Jesus as helpless, lost sinners, and to commit our souls into His hands is a mighty privilige. Let us ever bless God if this willingness is ours, for it is His gift. Such faith is better than all other gifts and knowledge in the world. Many a poor converted heathen, who knows nothing but that he is sick of sin, and trusts in Jesus, shall sit down in heaven, while many learned English scholars are rejected for evermore. Blessed indeed are those who believe!" ~J.C. Ryle

New Project: Daily December

I am so ready for Christmas and already in the holiday spirit!! This is partly because I have atarted a new project! toI am so excited! This December I am going to join Ali Edwards in her December Daily project. Ali states "December Daily is an album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. One of the keys to success in this project is getting an album structure set-up in advancwe of December so that during December you can enjoy the season and enjoy the process of documenting your days without having to be putting the entire thing together at the same time. It is not meant to be stressfull. It is meant to to be a way of creatively celebrate the season and document your special holiday memories in one album." So that's exactly what I did/am doing. That's why I am already counting down!! 13 days til December 1st and 36 days til Christmas!! (just in case you were wondering!)

I was very apprehensive at first, I've never really created my own album before. At least not without some kind of guide. But finally I just threw all hesitation out the window and started creating. I really didn't like what I had come up with, but everytime I look at it I tweak this or add that. I must say now I am pretty proud of what I have come up with and wanted to share it with you all. I am still tweaking many of the pages as I just found another container full of Christmas embellies :) But I have the cover and the 1st 2 pages for you.

Thankful "Tuesday"

Okay so I have not been doing real well with my Thankful Tuesday post. As a matter of fact I've only posted once!! And I know that today is technically Wednesday, but who is counting, right?! So I thought I'd post a few things I'm thankful for over the next couple of days to make up for the missed ones.

FRIENDS

I think it goes without saying that friends are pretty awesome. My friends are especially awesome (no really, they are :-). Being as introverted as I am (maybe some of you are shaking your heads right now, but believe me when I say that it's an effort for me to be social, it does not come naturally) it's sometimes hard for me to be really close to people. Well, I am incredibly lucky to have girlfriends near and far that totally get me, who are there for me, and who support me always. That's really special and everyone should have a group of people like this.
